SPT

Jose “Joey” Lanzona (he/they) is the third-year student physical therapist completing his doctoral education at Symbio Physio. Joey will be graduating in May of 2025 from the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey. Joey is passionate about dismantling taboos in healthcare as it pertains to male pelvic health, queer/transgender care, sexual health and intimacy. He also enjoys treating performers of all kinds and flavors – ballet dancers, drag artists, and nightlife entertainers alike! Joey was born in the Philippines and grew up in Newark, Delaware.

Joey is excited to join Symbio Physio as a resident with the goal of being the premiere physical therapist for pelvic health rehabilitation for all pelvises. With the mentorship and guidance in manual therapy, Joey strives to become the trusted physical therapists for drag artists, dancers, performers, and entertainers. As a new clinician, Joey welcomes all patients to seek counsel for any aches and pains with a bright smile, warm voice, and gentle hands.

When not pushing healthcare towards a brighter future, Joey is often found scouring NYC for vegan pastries or watching the sunset at Hudson River Park.
