Where has Joshua been?
Born in South Korea (not the northern neighbor), Josh moved with his family to New Jersey when he was in high school. While difficult to adjust to a new culture and fit in during his teenage years, he found his way through sports – More precisely, snowboarding. Being very skilled, Josh dreamed of becoming a professional snowboarder, however his dream was crushed after a horrible back injury. He had to work through vigorous rehab just to live a pain-free life. It was through this experience that Josh was able to understand how physical injury and pain can bring one down to his or her lowest point. As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, he learned how corrective exercises to enhance a patient’s athletic performance and body posture could establish optimal muscle balance. But it was his desire to not see anyone experience a life with pain that drove him to continue his education towards a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Touro College.
Where is Joshua now?
Josh is a very passionate person, driving him to do anything and everything. When not in the clinic, he strives to become a tri-athlete. Despite a previous back injury, swimming, cycling, and running have always been a part of his workout routine – why not participate in a sport that combines all three?! Josh is currently training to participate in an Ironman 70.3 in 2017.
Where is Joshua going?
Josh’s mission: To help people to live PAIN-FREE! Being exposed to eastern medicine at a young age and believing in its healing powers has lead Josh to currently pursuing an Oriental Medicine Doctorate degree from Pacific College. The hunger to advance his knowledge in manual therapy has also motivated Josh to further studying advanced manual therapy courses through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy to become a Certified Manual Therapist.
He also has a passion for working with under-privileged people around the globe and hopes to one day create a traveling Medical Mission Organization to serve the world.
